Review: Birthday Surprise by Terri Kelley

Every child loves a birthday and the main character in this story is no different. When her special day arrives, however, her family is nowhere to be found. The little girl is so upset as she waits with her nanny. When her mom and dad finally return, it's with a gift that is much different than anything the child could ever imagine.
This story is beautifully illustrated by the very talented Mardee Santos. It's bright and detailed backgrounds emphasize the story which is written in lyrical rhyme. Readers will be engaged by the storyline and will fall in love with the characters. This book is sure to become a favorite of readers young and old alike.

We received this book to give an honest review.

I really thought this was a great book to read. The pictures are wonderful done with this story. The only reason I am giving this book a 4 star rating and a 5 is because I would have liked for the pictures to fill my nook. Nothing was missing up it felt small. If that makes sense.
You have a little girl who is an only child until her parents bring home a surprise and it is one that is just an amazing birthday surprise. I felt that K could really related with this book in a way because he is a big brother and his birthday is at the beginning of a month while his sister's falls at the end. He seemed to be really engaged with the story and seemed to enjoy it.
Lovely lovely story to read.
