I received this book to give an honest review.
I didn't read this book to K but I think he might have enjoyed it as there is nothing too scary, there is talk of a murder but there is no details or gory graphics. It is overall a clean read. This review is mine and I wanted to share it with those that may have middle grade children or teens.
I love to read about ghosts and the paranormal. So when I saw this book and its title is The Ouija Board I figured it had to have some type of scariness to it.
For me it was not scary at all which I think the teens or even maybe middle grade would like it. When I think of using a Ouija Board I think of the spirit or spirits that will causes havoc and drive you crazy possibly. It wasn't really like it with this book which I found a bit weird.
So four best friends buy this Ouija board and try it out but what they don't realize that the board actually belonged to someone who has a scary past. This leads them to trying to find a way to get rid of this spirit but they may have unleashed something that is causing murders.
Where we leave off it does have me intrigued to read the next book to see if the girls can ever get rid of this spirit and how.
I would have liked to have seen more scary stuff happening such as maybe lights flickering off and on, things being moved, more weird noises in the house. You know random things that ghosts do especially one that has been back to this world view a Ouija board.
Other than that it was a good read that I got to finish in one sitting.
Shelby White was born and raised in Northern California. At a very young age she fell in love with the arts and began writing short stories for fun in her spare time anywhere she could. As time went on she found her passion in Television and Film and the art of storytelling. She was fascinated with the stories, the lives that characters lead and the way that each story could be told.
